Being a mom is hard work. Being a mom trying to leave her house with kids is even harder!!! I’m sure you know what I’m talking about in one way or another. Get ready moms, because I’ve decided to share my 4 easy tips to leaving the house with kids.
When I say we are leaving and I want everyone to be ready by the time the alarm goes off. I swear the kids hear: walk as slow as you can, lose a shoe and forget to put on a shirt.
I don’t know about you but this really turns my anxiety into overdrive. It was becoming pretty intense to the point that I would cancel plans. Just because it was so hard for me to get over my anxiety induced panic attacks.
Having a mental illness just adds to my circus of fun.
I decided to evaluate what my triggers are and change my approach to leaving the house with the kids. Then I tested them out like any good science experiment. I tried my 4 easy tips to leaving the house with kids and we were successful, some days more than others. Leaving happy and not like some chaotic mess was what I needed, I’m just being real! So I’ve kept at it and it’s gotten so much easier!
I know I’m not the only mom that has these out the door struggles. I hang out in mom groups, see the posts and have mom friends who share with me. Remember when they would tell us “sharing is caring”, well moms I care about you and the desire to leave your house with your kids, in a happy state of mind successfully.
These are 4 easy tips to leaving the house with kids that have helped me.
- Verbal reminders the night before, that we are leaving in the morning. I tell them what I’ll expect from them in the morning; eat, brush teeth, wash up and change.
- Pick out their clothes, shoes and lay them out on the couch so they know to put that on after they’ve eaten and washed their faces.
- If it’s a long outing I pack their snacks too. I’ll make PB&Js and fruit put it in Tupperware in the fridge. Then in the morning I’ll pull out the cold items and throw them in our lunch pail with our other lunch items.
- Prepare your bag. If you carry a diaper bag make sure it’s ready with all the essentials; diapers, wipes, change of clothes, and a snack. If you’re at that 4th kid stage and just carry a purse with a diaper and wipes make sure you got them.
You wouldn’t believe how many times I have forgotten my wallet because I thought it was in my purse, only to find the toddler thought it was her new toy!
Maybe you already knew this and have it down to perfection. Hey, maybe you have a few extra tips to add to this list. SHARE THEM and if you decided to try them out let me know how it works!
