Square Cat Vinyl is a hidden gem in Indianapolis, specifically in the Fountain Square area! If you want a change from your local co-working spot then you should check it out. Think great coffee, chill music, inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and so much more!
How do you get there you ask? Just head southeast of downtown Indianapolis. Fountain Square is a funky area of Indy with lots of local restaurants, artist galleries, indie shops for fashion, comics, etc, and amazing local live music venues. During the day you can shop, go duck pin bowling, get amazing food & coffee. Then, during the evening you can hear great local musicians, spoken word art, and grab a eclectic drink. There is plenty of street parking and a free lot as well. You can walk to all the places include my favorite, Square Cat Vinyl.
Square Cat Vinyl is all about supporting local!
They have live music multiple nights a week with local musicians. You might see a hip hop rap battle, a rock concert, or an amazing soloist on glockenspiel. Also, they have lots of spoken word art that can be such an inspiring thing to hear. In Addition, their walls also feature some gorgeous local artists that you can purchase or admire. I have seen some fantastic pieces by Alexis Davenport (@postbohemia), Alexandra VanOsdol (@alexandravanosdol), Miranda Thomas (@Mirandart217), & so many more! Hannah Ross spoke some of her inspiring spoken word the last time I visited for an event. You will always find something new & influential.
Square Cat Vinyl is also KID FRIENDLY!
Yep you heard that right. I have taken my teenager to hang out for events, live music, or to do homework while I work on my own business.
